One disadvantage is the accuracy and you get the best results using all 16 guns but that is a risky gamble. 16 guns are very effective against dd's 10k and under. I definitely agree that you can't snipe nor brawl but if you like to play a mobile BB in mid-range this is a fun ship. Got a couple citadels 1 on an angled cleveland and the other on a broadsided bb. took your advise and stuck with AP and am having better results. Keep the ranges above brawling ranges to better protect the ship, be mindful if the rewards are worth the risks of whatever you're doing, and be realistic on how good your chances are. Lyon is maneuverable enough to unmask then mask her sides for firing the turrets. Fire all turrets if you aren't priority target, or time their use when your opponent is on reload. Be mindful of your angles, be especially careful of the temptation to use all the turrets as it shows off a very nice view of her sides. She is not a brawler as her protection isn't that good. I had some posts in another thread about Lyon and I really love this ship. The 16 guns are absolutely devastating for Cruiser and Destroyer targets. Lyon on heavy armor targets needs repeated hits to rack the damage up. I would not adopt IFHE for her, a massive drain on points that could serve the ship elsewhere for minimal, if any gains. By all means, switch to HE if you have a heavy armor target that's staying angled / bow on and you got no time to maneuver to their side for a better profile to shoot at them with AP. Keep faith with the guns, keep faith with AP.
